Version 0.0.50! Special tiles! Combo your way into enemy Leader!




Hey everyone!

I'm back from holidays with a new game version for you!

A new and big mechanic finally made it to the game. It was a bit long because of the need to create art, animation, client interaction and server-side code to have everything working properly, but now it's there and will receive lots of new submechanics.
The mechanic is Special tiles!

Now on to the patchlog, mixed with some comments and devlog!

New version 0.0.50 is available!


Changelog:
Game (board mode) received another color correction, giving a better contrast between characters and background so that animations are easy to follow with the eye. I admit I went a bit too far on the saturation and it was a bit hard to follow the game on mobile, and eye fatigue was happening. Now this is fixed, while keeping the vibrant aspect.

New mechanic: Special tiles!
- On top of having your team and your spells, Chyss will allow to setup and use special tiles to achieve victory. The general philosophy behind special tiles is that players will need to consider moving to 'objective tiles', which are currently the only special tiles, and will have to weight the risk and reward of moving to an objective tile and exposing their units, but gaining some advantage over the opponent, VS ignoring objective tiles and playing around a safe positionning. Both playstyles will receive combos and good synergy to allow players to choose and adapt.

- Objective tiles are appearing randomly. Some of them are there at game start, and new objective tiles will appear during the game. They currently only appear on top of the 3 center columns.

- As of this version, new objective tiles will appear between turns, when all objective tiles are taken. In the future, and when new mechanics will be added, this will slightly change, to have less objective tiles at start, and more and more when advancing to late game.

- 4 objective tiles will be there when the game starts. After all of them are taken by players, at the next new turn, 6 random new ones will appear. When these are taken, 6 new ones will appear etc. until game ends.

- There currently are 2 ways of taking an objective tile: when a unit walks on it, and when a player summons a unit on it.

- These are the 3 types of objective tiles:

- Attack Refreshing Tile (temporary name)

- Will refresh your attack during this turn when a unit or Leader gets on it.
- Doesn't give you a bonus attack if you didn't attack on this turn, only refreshes it if you already used it.



- Move Refreshing Tile (temporary name)

- Will refresh your move action during this turn when a unit or Leader gets on it.
- Doesn't give you a bonus move if you didn't move on this turn, only refreshes it if you already used it.



- Mana Tile

- Will give you 2 mana when a unit or Leader gets on it.
- Nothing special about this one, you will keep your mana, not limited to your own turn.

- User Interface
- Added a temporary "mute music" button next to your player portrait.
- Until a proper music player is developed, this will allow to mute music for the rest of the game. Once clicked on and music is muted, button will disappear, leaving you with only sound effects.
